AMS 102nd annual meeting, 23-27 January 2022

The American Meteorological Society holds its 102nd annual meeting on 23-27 January 2022. On 27 January at UTC 02:30 PM – 4:00 PM, there will be a Joint Panel Discussion to mark 50 years of Earth Observation Coordination with an address by the Head of the CGMS Secretariat among other.

Dates of CGMS-50 plenary session

The CGMS-50 working groups will be held virtually in April and May 2022.  These meetings will be followed by the CGMS-50 plenary session on 15-17 June, with a special event on 21 June. Both meetings are planned to be held in a hybrid format, circumstances permitting.  Please visit the online CGMS calendar for details.

CGMS-49 virtual Working Group meetings

In view of the current pandemic situation, the CGMS-49 plenary working groups will be held virtually and moved forward in time. The schedule is available here. The plenary dates have been maintained for 20-21 May 2020. 

Publication of the CGMS-48 report

Himawari-8 conducts first target area observation in response to international user request

Launch of JMA’s “HimawariRequest” service

JMA has launched a new international service called “HimawariRequest”. The service allows Meteorological and Hydrological Services to request regional target area observations provided by Himawari-8/9 every 2.5 minutes. For further details, please visit the related news release.
