Publication of version 3.0 of the ECV Inventory by the joint CEOS/CGMS Working Group on Climate (WGClimate)

The joint CEOS/CGMS Working Group on Climate (WGClimate) has published a new version of the ECV Inventory (v3.0) (https://climatemonitoring.info/ecvinventory/).

With the release of version 3.0, the published content has been reviewed and agreed with the respondents. This corresponds to the characteristics of 1137 Climate Data Records addressing 35 GCOS ECVs spanning the atmospheric, oceanic, and terrestrial domains.

For the sake of traceability across different versions of the ECV Inventory, registered data records that were published in v2.0 which are still under review are published as in v2.0, with a tag clarifying that potentially outdated content is being displayed, and that updated information will be made available with the next release. The review process is of a continuous nature and the plan is to publish an updated database within the next 6 months and to continue doing so biannually.

The ECV Inventory web interface is continuously open for data collection at https://oecvinv01.eumetsat.int/ECV_Inventory_v3/ecv/, and contributors are encouraged to keep their input up to date.

The WGClimate would like to express their sincere thanks to the CGMS contributors to the ECV Inventory.

In case of any questions or comments, please direct these to the ECV Inventory EUMETSAT Support Team at ecv_inventory@eumetsat.int.
