The 8th CGMS WGIII risk assessment workshop will be held virtually on 3-5 February 2026, 12:00-15:00 (UTC) daily.
Objectives
The overall objective of this annual workshop is to perform the CGMS risk assessment and to review and update the CGMS baseline as necessary.
The specific key objectives of the workshop are to:
- Consider the latest WMO gap analysis and any impact on the CGMS baseline;
- Perform the annual CGMS risk assessment;
- Review and update the CGMS baseline for recommendation to plenary;
- Identify contingency actions as necessary;
- Prepare for the CGMS-54 WGIII meeting including action review.
We will also address updates by members related to the private sector, socio-economic benefits and any associated studies, as well as the CGMS coordinated statement to the WMO WIGOS Vision 2050.
Participation
Participation to this workshop is on invitation only and for representatives from all CGMS members (CGMS space agencies, WMO and IOC-UNESCO), typically
coinciding with the CGMS WGIII participation.
